Introduction
Respected guests, teachers and my dear friends, good morning to everyone on this occasion. My name is…….and I am going to say a few words on today’s occasion. All of us are here to celebrate the 73rd Republic Day of our country today. It is celebrated every year on 26th January.
Why and how to celebrate it?
As we know on 26 January 1950, the Indian constitution came into effect and so from that day, we celebrate it as the Republic Day of our country. We celebrate it every year with a lot of joy and happiness. The Republic Day of India is celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotism all over the country. It is celebrated by parades, flag-hoisting ceremonies, cultural events and sporting events. Its main program takes place at the Red Fort in Delhi. where the prime minister of our country gives a speech addressing the nation.
Draft of the Indian Constitution
As we all know India gained independence on 15 August 1947, but our country did not have any constitution of its own. However, after many discussions and deliberations, a committee headed by Dr BR Ambedkar presented a draft of the Indian Constitution, which was adopted on 26 November 1949 and officially came into force on 26 January 1950. Today is the day to be thankful for what he has done for our nation. Now India is a democratic country and every citizen has the right to choose their leader.
Features of our Constitution
The Constitution of India is the longest-written constitution of any country in the world. It comprises 444 articles in 22 parts, 12 schedules and 118 amendments. It sets up the framework for the government of the country and guarantees certain fundamental rights to its citizens.
Conclusion
We must also be thankful to all the great leaders and soldiers who gave up their lives for our country. We must always remember the sacrifices that these great leaders made.
As citizens of India, we must never forget that; our progress depends on our country’s progress. So, we must take the right steps towards the development and progress of our country. We must follow the rules and regulations of this country. The time has come that we must start living as more responsible citizens. So, today let’s pledge to always be a responsible citizen and add to our nation’s progress!

Today is the day to be thankful for what he has done for our nation.
